Just who is Dr. Frankenstrat?
Tim Burke, formerly known as the artist Dr. Frankenstrat, is a recovering
member of
BGCA -- Bloated Guitar Collection Anonymous.
Since his clean years, he has managed to play only
one guitar --er, well..two actually
(OK, OK three maybe, ... um, four -- tops)
...I mean except for the obvious acoustic guitar...no one
in their right mind would count that...so with this measly
six-guitar cadre (dang, you noticed -- there's a Gibson 335 in
the closet)
he records the material which you can check out
in the MUSIC section.
The guitars and gear are described
in loving detail in, oddly enough,
the GEAR section.
Tim has crawled around in the musical trenches wearing various hats: top 40
bands, wedding bands and casuals leading Mrs. Bleucher and her guests around
the ballroom floor to the hypnotic steps of the Bunny Hop, recording
projects, fingerstyle solo or duet concerts, arranging and producing demos for singers, and just generally whoring himself out to whoever is interested -- and enjoying every moment of it.
He graduated from the Guitar Program at Dick Grove School of Music, and
continued to study composing and arranging with Dick Grove himself until,
sadly, Dick passed away.
